Terms of use
Last Updated: October 30, 2025
Introduction
Mono (“Service”) is offered by Solid Technologies AG (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mono website, services, and features (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy (incorporated herein by reference). If you do not agree to all of the terms and policies, you must discontinue use of the Service.
2. Eligibility
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
- Legal Compliance: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service is in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including data protection laws in your jurisdiction.
3. Description of the Service
Mono provides a unified interface to access and chat with models from multiple third-party model providers. Features may include:
- Selecting and using different large language models made available through the Service.
- Entering prompts, uploading permitted content (provided you have the legal rights), and receiving model-generated outputs.
- Managing usage and spend via an in-Service wallet.
Important notes:
- We may add, remove, or modify available models or features at any time without notice.
- There is no public or private API for Mono. Access must occur through our human-operated user interface only.
4. Account Registration and Security
- Account Creation: You may need to create an account to access certain features. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep it updated.
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use or suspected breach.
5. User Content and Model Outputs
- User Content Ownership: Any prompts, images, text, or other materials you upload (“User Content”) remain your property. By uploading User Content, you represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to use and distribute that content.
- License to Us (Service Operation): You grant Solid Technologies AG a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
- Model Outputs: Model-generated outputs may be subject to the terms, licenses, and usage rules of the relevant third-party model provider. Ownership, licensing, re-use, and restrictions on outputs can vary by provider. You are solely responsible for reviewing and complying with the applicable provider terms before using or distributing any outputs.
- Responsibility: You are solely responsible for User Content and for your use of outputs. Ensure that neither your User Content nor your use of outputs violates law or infringes third-party rights.
- Monitoring and Removal: We may remove or restrict access to User Content or outputs that violate these Terms or are otherwise objectionable, at our discretion.
6. Intellectual Property
- Our Intellectual Property: The Service (including software, UI, designs, templates, and all related intellectual property) is owned by or licensed to Solid Technologies AG. Except for the limited rights necessary to use the Service, no rights are granted. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, translate, reverse engineer (except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law), or create derivative works of our IP without our prior written consent.
- Trademarks: All trademarks, service marks, and trade names (including “Mono” and “Solid Technologies AG”) are owned or licensed by us. You may not use our marks without our express written permission.
7. Subscriptions, Wallet, and Pricing
- Paid Plans Only: Mono offers paid subscription tiers (no free tier, no free trial). We may introduce promotional codes or credits from time to time, subject to additional terms.
- Wallet: Your subscription payments are credited to an in-Service wallet. Usage of different models deducts funds from your wallet at model-specific rates set by us. The wallet is a prepayment mechanism for service usage; it is not a bank account and bears no interest. Wallet balances are not redeemable for cash, except where required by law.
- Pricing and Taxes: Prices for plans and model usage are determined by us and are shown exclusive of taxes. You are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, and government charges.
- Price Changes: We may change plan pricing, model availability, and model-specific rates at any time and without prior notice. Updated pricing will apply to subsequent use.
- Billing and Renewal: Subscriptions may auto-renew unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge the recurring subscription fee and any applicable taxes.
- No Refunds: All payments are non-refundable unless required by law, including for partial billing periods, unused wallet balances, or downgrades.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right (including IP, privacy, and publicity rights).
- Upload, create, or distribute content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or otherwise objectionable; or that exploits or harms minors; or that invades others' privacy or security.
- Generate or disseminate malware or malicious code; probe or scan systems; interfere with or disrupt the Service or networks.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated means to access, query, or extract data from the Service without our express written permission.
- Circumvent rate limits, usage quotas, or access controls; test or benchmark in ways that degrade the Service; or attempt to access non-public areas.
- Use any automation technologies (including bots, scripts, RPA, headless browsers, or API wrappers) to interact with the Service. The Service must be used by humans through our interface. Accessibility tools may be used at your own risk.
- Share, sell, or transfer your account or credentials; or enable others to access the Service via your account.
- Engage in activities involving political persuasion, medical or legal advice generation, high-risk or regulated uses, biometric identifiers, or other sensitive or potentially harmful applications. Where any such activity is lawful in your jurisdiction, you do so solely at your own risk and we disclaim responsibility to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Termination
- Termination by You: You may stop using the Service or cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period; no refunds are provided unless required by law.
- Termination or Suspension by Us: We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, including for actual or suspected violations of these Terms, non-payment, abuse, fraud, automated access, or risk to the Service or others.
- Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 5–6 and 10–16) will survive.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
- As Is: The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- No Guarantee: We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that User Content or outputs will be preserved without loss or corruption. Model outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise unreliable.
- Firebase and Other Infrastructure: The Service runs on third-party infrastructure (including Firebase). We are not responsible for downtime, data loss, or issues caused by Firebase or other third-party services.
- Third-Party Model Providers: Your prompts, outputs, and related data may be transmitted to third-party model providers for inference and processing. Those providers may handle data under their own terms and privacy practices; we do not control and are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
11. Limitation of Liability
- No Liability for Certain Damages: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Solid Technologies AG shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, or loss of data, goodwill, or reputation.
- Cap on Liability: In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to us for use of the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability, or one hundred US dollars (US$100), whichever is greater.
- Some Jurisdictions: Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusions or limitations of certain damages; in such jurisdictions, the above limitations may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Solid Technologies AG and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, your use or distribution of outputs, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- Governing Law: These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to them are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
- Forum: Exclusive jurisdiction and venue lie in the courts located in Luzern, Switzerland, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
14. Modifications to the Terms
We may update these Terms at any time in our discretion. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the revised Terms on our website and updating the “Last Updated” date above. By continuing to use the Service after changes become effective, you agree to the revised Terms.
15. Privacy and Cookie Policy
- Privacy Policy: Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data. By using the Service, you acknowledge you have read and understood it.
